Prolix Footle is the Jester Primus in the court of King Impavid the Fearless. His wit and wisdom are renowned throughout the lands, having even made it into The Chronicle of Days. Apparently, he is also an easily bullied old fogey.
When not living in a fantasy land (which is an infrequent occurrence as Real Life is… well, mundane. Besides, isn't that what doddering old fools are supposed to do?) or being easily bullied, the Jester Primus is an administrative assistant specializing in professional estimating at a middling-large lumber retailer headquartered on the North Coast of America. He is also not-so-recently divorced, and currently resides in the Rural Wastelands with a small menagerie (six cats and two dogs) where he assists his progenitors in growing meat on the family farm (PETA has been notified).
The Jester’s main weakness is that he is easily frightened by a variety of phenomena. Foremost among these is Blind Jingoism, followed closely by Febrile Militancy, Witless Presidial Obtusity, and Generalized Societal Apathy. Imaginings of a denouement of rabid fascism are created from the conflux of these actualities. Germination of said fascism can be recognized if one looks closely.
He is also uncertain of how to counteract this abysmal tide, and is actively soliciting suggestions, as well as information on Canadian emigration policy.
As part of his personal philosophy, the Verbal Jester believes that if one is going to post in a public forum, then it should indeed be public. Consequently, there are no 'friends only' or 'private' posts, and though there are some filters set up, none have as yet been used. As a result, you will occasionally be exposed to whining, blathering, personal observations, outrageous commentary, the occasional attempt at creative writing and, of course, the fabled Apparent Random Non-Sequitur™, the governing force in the Verbal Jester's life.
And now for something completely different.
Friends of the Jester Primus have been known to be assigned alter-egos and make appearances in what has charmingly been designated 'friend-fic'.
